Taking the Pulse of the Events Industry. (June 2009).
The future of event training, learning and development is the hot topic being explored at a conference organised by the University of Derby on Friday June 26th at 15 Hatfields, London.
The aim of this inaugural event is to capture the views and opinions of leading experts from across the many sectors that comprise the ever-expanding events sector.
"Taking the Pulse" will include a number of roundtable sessions where participants will be able to debate the various issues relating to training, assessment and development within the Events industry. These will be collated and fed back to a panel of experts, including Richard Limb of Capita Symonds, Richard John of RJA GB Ltd, Lesley Maltman, Chief Executive at ABPCO, Tony Rogers, of Eventia and Nick Jordan, from The University of Derby.
After the event, a comprehensive consultative document will be published, based on the outcomes of "Taking the Pulse" and circulated in the autumn, aimed at providing comprehensive advice and guidance and delivering a "road map" for the future needs of the industry.
'The Events Industry today has grown incredibly professional and definitely will remain so, this conference is an opportunity for professionals within the industry to say exactly what they feel the future of CPD should be and help influence the way in which the industry meets the needs of customers both nationally and internationally and all of the people who work in it'', Nick Jordan, Senior Events Management lecturer, University of Derby’.
The event is free, and open to event professionals who feel they would like to help scope the future of the industry.
